How do Korean love stories show people getting closer?
Through the way they speak. Strangers use the polite -요 form and put 씨 after a name; close friends and couples drop into casual speech, 반말. In a romance, the moment one character switches is part of the plot. Here a commuter, after weeks of silent rides on the same bus, risks a question:

새벽 5시 47분 (5:47 AM), A2 chapter 2. 혹시 (by any chance) softens the request, and -(으)ㄹ 수 있을까요? is a gentle "could we?". He is still polite: they have only just started speaking.

What happens in the Korean romances?
At A1, a late-night text to the wrong 준호 leaves Jieun engaged to a stranger in 잘못 보낸 메시지 (The Wrong Message), and in 벤치의 비밀 작전 two dogs keep steering their shy owners to the same park bench. At A2, a granddaughter finds her grandmother's unsent love letters in 찻잔 속의 시간 (Time in a Teacup). Further up, four friends share a last summer on Ganghwado before one of them marries, and two Jeonju noodle-shop families keep a three-generation feud going while their heirs meet at midnight.
Several romances double as mysteries, so expect secrets as well as sparks. The flagship, 달빛 빌라 (Moonlight Villa), runs at all four levels, with anonymous fan letters arriving for the webtoon artist upstairs.

Is there anything explicit in the romances?
No. They are warm, everyday stories: misunderstandings, awkward first conversations, families with opinions. Nothing explicit happens.
Will these stories teach me 반말?
By example, yes. Couples, friends and families speak casually inside the quotation marks, while the narration stays in the written style. Notice who switches and when; it is usually a turning point.
