Terms of Use
These terms apply to the Contos app. By using Contos you agree to them.
The service
Contos generates a personalised Brazilian Portuguese story each day, with lessons and flashcards, calibrated to your level. Story content is AI-generated for language practice — it may occasionally contain errors and isn't professional advice of any kind.
Contos Premium subscription
- Plans: Contos Premium is available as a monthly plan (one month) or an annual plan (one year), at the price shown in the App Store before you confirm purchase.
- Billing: payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. There is no free trial.
- Renewal: the subscription renews automatically for the same period — monthly or yearly, depending on your plan — unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within 24 hours before the new period starts.
- Managing & cancelling: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app or your Contos account does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms.
Your account
Your progress is tied to your account (anonymous, or linked to your Apple ID). You're responsible for the device access that controls it. You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Account → Delete account); deletion is permanent.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to abuse, reverse-engineer the service, or gain access you haven't paid for. We may suspend accounts that do.
Liability
Contos is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
